• What is the "dress code" for the weekend celebrations?  We don't have a dress code; some people dress up, some come very casual… most folks are somewhere in the middle.  It's really not a big deal here at River Valley.
  • What style of music should I expect in the weekend celebrations?  Music is hugely important to God. We see in Scripture that God sings over us (Zeph. 3:17), and we are exhorted throughout the whole Bible to "Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord" (Eph. 5:19). We believe that the content of our songs is more important than their style, but since music is such a powerful way to convey truth, music style is very important. We have found that a contemporary, guitar-driven style and wide use of songs (old hymns, contemporary choruses, and original pieces) resonates best with our church family, communicating God's message to us and leading us in a Christ-honoring response.

  • How do I get involved at River Valley?  There are many ways to get plugged in at River Valley.  Because of all the different opportunities, we encourage folks to first come to our River Valley 101.  We share about the history and the future of River Valley and then discuss ways to get involved.  Click here to learn more.
  • What sacraments does River Valley celebrate?  We celebrate baptism (2-3 times a year) and communion (every Sunday).  We also do baby dedications (3-4 times a year).  If you are interested or want to know more about any of these, contact Heidi Payton.
  • Does River Valley offer any type of counseling?  Yes.  Life is hard. In many ways, it's harder now than it was just a generation or two ago. Families are fractured. People are isolated. Abuse of all kinds is rampant. It's no surprise that many people find themselves stuck in their problems, hopeless, unable to change.  The main ways we tackle these types of life issues are through Home groups, Life Groups, and through our licensed counselor, Kathy Blumentritt. (click here to email Kathy).
