by making disciples of Jesus who love one another
and impact the world with the gospel.

As students grow and mature, our desire is to see them build upon the scriptural foundation established in childhood while deepening their love for God’s Word, the gospel, and a biblical worldview. Our Student Ministry exists to glorify God by equipping middle and high school students to know Christ more fully, think biblically, and live faithfully in every area of life.

We want students to:

Develop a deeper love for God and His Word
Understand and apply a biblical worldview
Take ownership of their faith
Recognize the seriousness of sin and the grace found in Christ
Grow as faithful disciples of Jesus
Stand confidently upon the authority of Scripture
Be prepared to give a reason for the hope they have (1 Peter 3:15)

How we do that:

Through weekly discipleship and Christ-centered community, students are challenged and equipped through:

Scripture-centered teaching
Age-appropriate discipleship for middle and high school students
Small group discussion and fellowship
Intentional relationships with peers and leaders
Purposeful activities that foster growth and community
Biblical guidance for navigating today's culture through the lens of Scripture and the gospel

Interested in serving in Student Ministry?

Serving in Student Ministry is an opportunity to invest in the next generation by helping students grow in their knowledge of God, His Word, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are always looking for faithful men and women who love Christ and desire to disciple students as they mature in their faith. We especially encourage parents with teens in our Student Ministry to prayerfully consider serving in this way.

Because Student Ministry involves the care and discipleship of minors, all volunteers must be covenant members of River Valley Church.
